Cancellation cover Should you need to cancel your holiday through
illness, injury, or other unforeseen circumstances, the insured will be covered
(Excess may apply) typically £1,000 to £5,000.
Curtailment cover Pays out if your holiday needs to be cut short
due to unforeseen circumstances (Excess may apply) typically £1,000 to £5,000.
Legal Expenses Covers the cost of making a claim
against someone who caused injury or death. Typically £10000 to £50000.
Medical Expenses If medical attention is required abroad
then this generally needs to be paid for, unlike within the UK which is covered
by the NHS. Typically £2,000,000 - £10,000,000.
Missed Departure Covers the cost of getting to the destination
where the flight is missed. Typically £1000 to £5000.
Personal Accident A fixed sum is paid out if the insured is injured
or dies from the result of an accident. Typically £10,000 to £25,000.
Personal Liability Pays out on claims made against the insured
for their actions whilst on holiday. Typically £2,000,000 to £5,000,000.
Personal Possessions Covers the luggage and personal possesssions
if lost or stolen.
Clauses
Pre Exsisting Medical Conditions If you have an illness then you
need to disclose this prior to accepting the insurance since premiums may rise.
By shopping around, some insurance companies allow diabetes, hypertension (high
blood pressure) and other conditions to be accepted with no increase in cost.
