Air Malta Facts
- Air Malta is owned by the Maltese Goverment
- Created in 1973 and began flying on 1st April 1974
using 2 leased jets
- Currently (April 2005) the fleet consists of 13 aircraft
made up of; four Airbus A320, three Airbus A319 and six Boeing 737-300.
- The first new Airbus A320 with registration 9H-AEF joined
Air Malta’s fleet on Wednesday 7th January 2004. The 168-seater aircraft, named
‘Valletta’, operated its first flight, KM146, from Malta to Manchester on the 8th January.
